Boots Stores
Simons Design have worked in the past with Boots on almost 200 individual store projects. Our work ranges from in-store concepts and new edge of town store designs to nationwide roll outs and high end acquisitions and more recently drive through pharmacies. one of our most valued projects for Boots involved the design and development of the Store of the Future concept, which would focus on a new customer experience throughout. This involved introducing alternative processes such as Interactive and digital screens, with large promotional screens throughout the store, new offering with updated areas and latest models and modernised signage.

St Catherine's Walk, Wales
This project features a popular mixed-use development comprising Retail, F&B, Leisure, Car Park and Landscaping. Other works includes the expansion and regeneration of the existing town square and indoor market. The new development works created 25 retail units, 900 space purpose-built shoppers' car park, new public amenity spaces and 6-screen multiplex cinema. Simons Design provided Architectural, Interior Design and Lead Consultant Services from Concept stage to Detail Design to Tender. During the procurement, mobilisation and construction phases of the project we provided a Technical advisor role to the client and the Contractor.

Waitrose & Partners, Malmesbury
A fully integrated project bringing Waitrose to Malmesbury with benefits to the town and its community that it serves. A careful and considered New Build design with multiple stakeholder groups, due to its location within a Conservation Area and surrounded listed buildings. Site design involved 218 car parking spaces, new footpaths, and cycleways. The building is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible and merge into the surrounding greenfield context. A well-developed landscape provides additional screening and improved biodiversity.

Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Store, Peterborough
Simons Design played a key role in the design and delivery of the first high street Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Soft Scoop shop in the UK, located in the heart of Peterborough city centre. Working closely with the client, we developed a bespoke retail fit-out and storefront design that aligned seamlessly with Ben & Jerry’s distinctive branding and vision. Our approach ensured that the space was both inviting and functional, creating an engaging environment for customers to enjoy their favourite ice cream in a vibrant, welcoming setting.

Domino’s Pizza Stores
Simons Design have worked with Domino's over the past 5 years to help successfully deliver 11 Domino's pizza stores across the country. Several of these projects required adhering to strict timelines and overcoming challenges associated with existing buildings, including those located within conservation areas. This include coordinating of any specialist surveys, planning and building control approval works. Additionally, numerous projects included ancillary design tasks, such as addressing considerations related to neighbouring tenants and party wall arrangements.

M&S Store, Cheshire Oaks
This cutting-edge project for Marks & Spenser in Cheshire Oaks was built by Simons Construction and Simons Design provided sustainable design consultancy works and BREAM assessment. M&S Cheshire Oaks is a flagship store which is multiple award winning, biggest greenest store. It’s designed to be the most carbon efficient, premier M&S store to date with an architectural and design strategy that addresses several areas of sustainability at once. It’s the second biggest M&S store in the world, and the biggest we’ve ever built from scratch, two floors, with a large Food Hall and two M&S Cafés, with seating for around 430 customers. It’s also created over 350 new jobs and included placements for Marks & Start, which provided employment opportunities for disadvantaged groups.

Simons worked with Gant to deliver over 20 retail stores across the UK and Ireland, including Cheshire Oaks, Edinburgh, Dublin, White City (Westfield London), Guildford, Reading and Manchester. Many of the these projects to involved designing and delivering bespoke luxury retail environments in boutique locations, such as within Harrods of London and Selfridges in York.

Marriot's Walk, Witney, Oxford
Marriots Walk is at the heart of Witney and formed a mixed-use extension to the town centre combining the character of the historic town centre with new facilities and features. This development includes 20 retail / leisure units, cinema 136 residential apartments, children’s playground and 660 space multi-storey car park. The primary project aim was the sensitive development of the existing site to provide ma new modern retail and leisure experience, whilst being sympathetic to the surrounding urban context and achieving high environmental sustainability objectives. The existing town features a number of small shops and traditional market square.

House of Fraser Stores
Simons worked with House of Fraser to deliver four flagship retail stores including Bristol, White City (Westfield London), Belfast and Maidstone. These projects involved Design & Build construction procurement. These works incorporated new ceramic floors, suspended ceilings, mechanical, electrical, sprinklers, escalators and lifts. The programme for each of these projects was challenging but the Simons team worked closely with House of Fraser and their designers, to deliver critically acclaimed retail environments and shopping experience.

Development of Retail Park, which includes the following key design aspects, such as native landscape planting, SUDs designed hard landscaping scheme, Large cycling provision, Liaison with local crime advisors, Roof mounted PV meeting 20% of regulated energy demand, specification to maximise Mat 01 credits and responsibly sourced materials including timber, high recycled content and GGBS cinder track public right of way alongside the site and embodied carbon footprint used as part of value engineering.
