Hill Holt Wood Visitor/Conference Centre

The design and delivery of a new exemplary sustainable low-carbon project to provide a new community hub, featuring a new cafe, Kitchen, WCs and conference / community teaching hall space. This project was developed in collaboration with the University of Lincoln’s 2nd year Design Studio and a Knowledge Transfer Partnership led by Dr Behzad Sodagar provided the concept design in 2006. Simons provided pro-bono architectural services, and Professor John Chiltern of Lincoln University provided engineering consultancy to the project.

Dover Sea Sports Centre

The contemporary building is situated within the historical setting of Dover Castle and operated by Dover Sea Sports Development Trust, which is a not for profit organisation. This hub serves both the Clubs and Societies using the waters and beach of Dover Harbour and the community at large. It also forms the initial part of the regeneration of the Dover Sea Front. This Project was funded primarily through grants and donations. This building replaces a number of older utilitarian buildings and improves the visual amenity of the beach and adjacent areas

Ellipta Compliance Building

The project was a new-build facility that achieved Zero Carbon, the building was timber frame with CLT Floor panels and Hemcrete roof and wall panels. The facility incorporates a Rehau tube system installed below ground to pre-temper air prior to use, Photovoltaic Cells on the roof in addition to LED Lighting as well as internal finishes with low embodied carbon.

GSK CMC Hub Offices & Labs

Project involved the refurbishment and remodelling of Laboratories and office / 'Write-Up' areas and collaborative innovative meeting spaces to create a Chemistry Innovation Hub at GSK Ware. These bespoke facilities were created for the Bio Pharm Innovations Team at GSK. This cutting-edge design fitout included all integrated services for both the laboratories and offices within the ceilings, featuring 'plug-in and play' compressed gas, HVAC, elec, etc services points, allowing for the spaces to be reassigned and converted into Labs or office space as required within a short time period with minimal building intervention.
